Q. Where are the auctions held?
Government Auctions SA, 47 Transport Avenue, Netley.
Q. Are the administration facilities and auctions located at the same place?
Yes, both are located at 47 Transport Avenue, Netley.
Q. Do you sell the vehicles as they are listed in the GASA press advertisement?
No. Vehicles are presented and sold in lot number order, starting with lot number 1 as described in the catalogue.
Q. Are there more vehicles than those listed in the GASA press advertisement?
No. Generally, all vehicles are listed in our advertisement.
Q. How often are the auctions held?
During summer month the auctions are held every Wednesday at 9.00am. To inspect the vehicle before the auction, gates are open at 8.00am on the Wednesday. Inspections are also held on Saturday 9.00am-12.00pm, and Tuesday 9.00am – 4.30pm.
Q. When is the next week's catalogue available?
The catalogue is usually available on the Friday before an auction. To get your own personalised copy, you can register online to receive the catalogue via an email every Friday prior to an auction. Register online at www.auctions.sa.gov.au .
Q. Can you tell me when you will have a certain type of vehicle for auction?
Unfortunately no. We do not advertise when certain vehicles are being auctioned. To receive the electronic vehicle catalogue prior to press advertising, register online at www.auctions.sa.gov.au
Q. How long do the auctions take?
We auction approximately 40 - 50 vehicles per hour.
Q. Is there a reserve price on vehicles and what is it?
Yes, there are reserve prices, but GASA does not disclose them. To research on the values obtained for vehicles, you can do a price search on the GASA website at www.auctions.sa.gov.au . You can search for vehicles and their sale price for up to the previous 6 weeks.
Q. Do I need to register to bid and can I do it today?
No. Simply collect a bidder's number from the Customer Service Officer at the car park gate or from the Officer located at the entrance of the auction shed.
Q. Is it possible to arrange an Independent inspection, including road test of the vehicle?
No. Vehicles can be inspected before the auction and a vehicle assessment report is attached to the vehicle as a guide to buyers. Vehicles may not be road tested or moved from the premises.
Q. How about previous paint and panel repairs? Where and how extensive are they?
The vehicle assessment report provides a lot of information to help you make a decision to purchase a vehicle. GASA are not advised of any details of previous accidents.
Q. Do the vehicles have a Warranty?
Purchases at auction do not carry any statutory warranty. However, some vehicles may have the balance of the Manufacturers warranty and will transfer to the new owner.
Q. Do you have EFTPOS facilities for payment?
Yes, GASA does have EFTPOS facilities and a number of other payment options.
The deposit ( $200 (GST incl)) can be paid by:
• Cash;
• Certified bank cheque;
• Credit union corporate cheque; or
• Electronic funds transfer (EFT), which includes real time gross settlements, EFTPOS or direct credit.
The balance of the purchase price for a lot, including the Buyer's Premium, may be paid by:
• Certified bank cheque;
• Credit union corporate cheque; or
• Electronic funds transfer, which includes real time gross settlements or direct credit.
Credit cards are NOT accepted for payment of the balance of the purchase price for a lot, including the Buyer's Premium
Q. Who do I make the cheque payable too?

Q. Can I put in an absentee bid or telephone bid?
A. No. We cannot accept absentee or telephone bids.
Q. Can we register vehicles?
Motor registration facilities are available during the auction from 9.00am-3.30pm Wednesday and Thursday.
Q. We come from Interstate. Can we arrange a permit to drive our vehicle interstate?
Yes. Permits are available by attending the nearest Service SA centre for assistance.
Q. How can we pay for Registration etc?
Payment to Motor registration is by Credit Card Only - Visa or MasterCard.
Q. How much will registration, stamp duty, number plates, transfer and administration fees add to the cost.
Q. How do I attach the number plates?
A GASA staff member will assist you in attaching the number plates to the vehicle when you collect your vehicle.
Q. Do Police vehicles have the special computer chip?
SA Police vehicles do not have any special computer chip.
Q. Can I sell my private vehicle at your auction?
No. Only Government funded organisations can sell their vehicles through Government Auctions SA.
